Welcome to the Autumn Gallery

It can be overwhelming to paint at this time of year. The explosion of colours that assaults the eye must be somehow tamed, culled and selected. Once the majority of leaves have fallen to the ground, it is the undulating ground cover which piques my interest. Tree skeletons become more visible, in fact predominant, giving me a foundation of structure in design. In the woods, the pre Cambrian boulders make one aware of the earth’s profoundly old history. The season’s dress is magnificent against the blue of the Laurentian lakes. Autumn is understandably a richly giving season for me.
